Deceased Name: Ellard Newton 'Buzz' Mordell
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 1997, in Lynch Baptist Church for Ellard Newton ''Buzz'' Mordell, who died Dec. 10 at age 79.
Mr. Mordell was born Sept. 9, 1918, in New Hampton, Iowa. In 1938, he married Clarajean Racette. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He moved to Portland in 1949. He worked 11 years for Freightliner Corp. and 20 years for Dana Corp., where he was district manager.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Patricia Hyland of Oregon City; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose. Arrangements are by Caldwell's Chapel. The family suggests remembrances to the church, Kidney Association of Oregon or American Heart Association.
