Died--In Baltimore, on the 2nd inst., of pneumonia, Samuel Johnson, aged 39 years and 1 day.
Alas, alas, the spirit fled,
His voice we hear no more,
His body numbered with the dead,
And we his loss depolore.
But do we mourn without a hope,
Oh, no, we heard him say,
I am resigned, I all yield up,
I would no longer stay.
Farewell dear mother and brothers,
I'm going to blush in Jesus' smiles,
