"OBITUARY"


ELKHART -- Ruth R. Harrison, 87, of Elkhart, died at 9:46 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Riverside Village, Elkhart.

She was born Aug. 1, 1923 to Russelle D. and, Gladys Edythe (Crume) Biddle in Elkhart and was adopted as a child by Vernon" and Sarah Mann. She married John E. "Jack" Harrison on July 10, 1942, in Elkhart. He died April 24, 2009.

Surviving are two sons, Larry (Nellanne) Harrison of Indianapolis and Carl (Sharon) Harrison of Arizona; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Ruth was a homemaker and was well-known as an antique doll collector. She graduated from Elkhart High School with the class of 1942.

Family and friends may call from 1:30 p.m. Thursday until the service at 2:30 p.m. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. The Rev. Jack McGlasson will officiate. Burial will follow at Edwardsburg Cemetery.
