Mrs. Adams was born on May 17, 1918, in Simpsonville, to the late James T. Leapard and Corrie Barbrey Leapard. She was an interior decorator and was a member of the Mauldin Garden Club for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mauldin, where she served as President of the WMU. She also taught the Royal Ambassadors boys group, the Girls Auxiliary group, and Vacation Bible School. She also served on various committees at the church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of the home, are three daughters, Barbara Adams of Greenville, Margaret Ayers and her husband, Herb, of Greenville, and Mary Alice Ford and her husband, Tony, of Simpsonville; a sister-in-law, Kitty Leapard of Greenville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sisters, Louise Coleman, Madge Parris, Lillian McDonald and Elma McDonald; and a brother, Aaron Leapard.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today, Nov. 18, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Mauldin, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
