Greensburg Record-Herald - August 6, 1936

Mr. F. H. Bale died at his home in Allendale, Wednesday, July 22nd. He was born in the Brush Creek neighborhood in 1841 and was 95 years old. **He was the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Dennis L. Bale and the last great-grandson of Henry Bale who immigrated from Germany in 1751 and settled in Sussex County, New Jersey.** [SEE NOTE BELOW]

Mr. Bale was married to Amanda Weldon [WELDEN] in 1866. She preceded him to the grave six years ago. He taught in the rural schools of Green and Hart Counties during his early life.

He is survived by two sons: T. D. Bale of Zero, Ky., and Buckner Bale of Allendale, Kentucky; 2 daughters: Mrs. Ida Edwards of Powder Mills, Ky., and Mrs. Kate McCubbin of Campbellsville; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. (Burial in the Elmore Cemetery)

Mr. Fielding Harrison Bale, 65 years of age, died Wednesday, July 23rd, at his home at Allendale. He is survived by the following children, Mrs. Kate McCubbin, of this city, Mrs. Ida Edwards, of Magnolia, Messrs. Buckner and Thad Bale, of Allendale. Funeral services took place Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the family cemetery in Green County.
