The former Emelie A. Strassburg, she was born May 15, 1912, in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Max and Rose Keil Strassburg.
On December 4, 1931, she and Edward J. Brooks were married in Waukegan, Illinois.
Mrs. Brooks was employed for many years at Wald-Heim’s Nurseries, retiring in 1974. She was previously employed at Sheboygan Greenhouses and Vollrath Company.
Mrs. Brooks was a member of St. Dominic Parish, its Christian Mothers Society and the Apostolate of Suffering.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Roger E. of Gig Harbor, Washington; one daughter, Mrs. William (Bette) Werbeckes of Chilton; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Vernon (Mildred) Kregel of Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by a sister.
