A son of Everett and Mary A. Dickerson, Samuel (Sam) Dickerson was married to Merle Trent on Nov. 8, 1933. They were the parents of two children who died in infancy and a daughter, Patricia, who married George Desich. Sam was a farmer and also did tile drainage installation.

Services were April 1 at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, for Samuel I. Dickerson, age 83, Lizton, who died March 28 (1984) at Witham Hospital in Lebanon. Rev. Raymond Duff officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at North Salem. A native of Hendricks County, he was born May 17, 1910, a son of Everett and Mary (Hiland) Dickerson. On Nov. 8, 1933 he was married to Merle A. Trent who survives. Mr. Dickerson was a farmer and drainage contractor in Hendricks and Boone counties. He was a member of the first graduating class from Pinnell High School in 1929. A member of the Lizton Christian Church, he was also a charter member of the Lizton Lions Club. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Patricia (Mrs. George) Desich of Lizton; a sister, Fern Strawmyer of Lebanon; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two children preceded.
