A native of Boone County he was born June 7, 1917 on the farm where he had spent his entire life. He was a son of Everett L. and Mary (Hiland) Dickerson. On July 21, 1946 he was married to Helen Dale, in Indianapolis. She survives.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II, he attended Boone County schools including Pinnell. He was well known for judging of horse pulling contests in Indiana and surrounding states. He had owned many horses used in that sport, having sold them two years. ago. He was a member of the Lizton K. of P. Lodge and the Lizton Lions club. He was an avid euchre player.
Surviving with the widow are a son, Ronald Dale, R. R. 1, Jamestown; five grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Dickerson of Lizton; two sisters, Lima Ragsdale, R.R. 4 Lebanon and Mrs. Fern Strawmyer of Lebanon; two nieces and one nephew.
