Frank Osborn was born in Fayette Township, Decatur County, Iowa, February l, l856, died at his home in Davis City, Iowa, November l9, l923, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and l8 days.
On June l9, l877, he was united in marriage with Mary E. Toney. To this union four children were born, three sons surviving; Walter, of Leon; Clarence and Hillary, both of Davis City; the daughter having preceded him in death. He is also survived by three brothers, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of friends he had made during his long residence in this county.
Mr. Osborn has lived in the vicinity of Davis City all of his life, having been engaged in different vocations, both agricultural and business. He became a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge about thirty years ago, and had always taken an active interest in the work of the Lodge, being Noble Grand of the Davis City Lodge at the time of his death, and was also a member of the Encampment.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church in Davis City on Tuesday, November 20th, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. J. E. Clark, and was very largely attended, the Odd Fellows attending in a body. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Davis City.
