A.O. Jackson
A. 0. Jackson, 91, of 1000 W. Maple died Friday at 1 p.m. in Mercy Hospital where he had been a patient since April 30.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Longton Cemetery under the direction of the Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home until noon Monday.
A. O. Jackson was born Aug. 5, 1886, at Collins, Mo., the son of Timothy N. and Orlena (Sheeks) Jackson. He was a farmer and oil field worker and was employed by the Union Pacific Railway at the time of his retirement.
He married Iva Burrows at Collins, Mo., June 24, 1905, and they moved to Oregon in 1907. They resided in California before moving to Independence in 1914. She preceded her husband in death Nov. 10, 1946.
He married Nellie M. Rose at Fort Scott on June 25,1947, and she died Jan. 7, 1974.
Mr. Jackson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lonzo (Veora) Banning, Longton; one brother, Floyd of Moro, Ore.; one sister, Delia Smith, Mac-Minnville, Ore.; and five grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, one sister, two brothers, and one grandchild preceded him in death.
