He served in the OH Militia under Captain John Williams in the War of 1812.

He was elected Constable in May, 1819.

He was one of the first settlers of the Northfield township, owned 90 acres and built a log cabin there in 1824.


Married Nancy (Bacon)

His daughter Esther C. Cranmer Munn was the 1st school teacher in the settlement in about 1833 where she made 10 shillings per week.
