Burial followed in the Old Bethel Cemetery near Clarks.
Mr. Jones died Tuesday morning at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, after a long illness.
Mr. Jones lived in Clarks until 1953 and at that time the Louisiana Central Lumber Company ceased operations, so he moved his family to Houston, Texas, where he worked for 23 years and retired from the City of Houston Public Works Dept. in 1977. He lived in Montgomery, Texas, at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Odelle Jones of Montgomery, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Kay Stich of Liberty, Texas and Mrs. Nancy Strawn of McPherson, Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Chapman of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Mrs. Lois Alger of Monroe, and Mrs. Bertha Singleton of Lacy, Washington; and five grandchildren.
