Dene, loving wife of William Odis Freeman, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009. Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late James Willie Lawson and Ruby Balzeger Lawson. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of Welcome Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband, William Odis Freeman of Columbia; daughter, Carolyn Cullen of Lake Wateree; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Retha Bates of Lexington; Alma Leach of Cayce; brother, Dewey Lawson of Aiken.
