MEADE COUNTY MESSENGER OBITUARY – 06/29/1994
Willis Witt Lockard, age 84, of Big Spring, died Thursday, June 23, 1994 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg. He was born in Big Spring, April 15, 1910, a son of the late William & Alice Green Lockard. He was a retired farmer, and a member of Big Spring Corners Methodist Church. Mr. Lockard is survived by his wife, Lena Kaelin Lockard; a daughter, Jewell Lynch; 2 grandsons, Maurita & Mardis Lynch, all of Big Spring; 3 sisters, Parthena Sharp of Big Spring, Nina Newton of Guston, and Adena Haus of Louisville; and a brother, Odie Lockard, also of Big Spring. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 26, from the Big Spring United Methodist Church, with Rev. Julius Lucas officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery near Bewleyville, directed by Alexander Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Roy Vertrees, Eric Vertrees, Kenneth Lynch, Jerry Lynch, Albert Chapell and Jim Jolly.
