Claude Coffey passed away peacefully at his home of 40 years in Riverside, California, surrounded by his beloved family on Friday, Aug. 4, 2006.
Claude was born on March 27, 1918 in Robert Lee, Texas.
Shortly thereafter his family relocated to Pauls Valley, Okla. There he met and married his beloved wife of 65 years, Katie (Adams).
Claude was a devoted Seventh Day Adventist and modeled his life after the teachings of his lord Jesus Christ. Always a man of high morals and character, he set an example for not only his family, but many who knew him to follow.
While living in Oklahoma he was involved in many facets of farming and raising livestock. As he moved his family to Colorado and later to California he worked in the timber and construction trades.
Claude is preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Ricks-Todd; granddaughter, Kimberly R. Ricks; brothers: Ples, Ervin, Rig, Frank, Jim, Johnny Perry, Walter Elmer; sisters, Mattie Busey and Oleta Williams; and both parents, Isaac and Ida Coffey.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Katie; grandson, Gregory S. Ricks and wife Ellie of Bullhead City, Ariz.; grandson, Brian S. Ricks of Riverside, Calif.; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in and around the Pauls Valley area.
Funeral services were held at the Corona Seventh Day Adventist Church on Wednesday, Aug. 9, followed by burial in Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, adjacent to his daughter and granddaughter.
Service directed by Sierra Memorial Chapel Mortuary.
