She was married at the age of seventeen in Syracuse, N.Y. to John E. Green. She became the mother of four children three of whom survive her. One daughter lives in Chicago, Illinois, and two live in this community. Her descendants are also four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was a widow fourteen years. When twenty years of age she experienced religion, united with the M.E. church and was ever after an earnest Christian worker. The funeral was held in the Baptist church, was conducted by Rev. M. D. Bevan and the remains were followed by a long concourse of friends and relatives to the Superior cemetery. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, July 26, 1900)
