A funeral for Elgus P. ''EP'' Frank, of Vernonia, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Fuiten-Rose Mortuary Chapel in Vernonia. Interment will be in Vernonia Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Frank died of causes related to age Friday in a Portland convalescent home. He was 91.
Mr. Frank was born Aug. 21, 1901, in Greenville, Tenn. He attended schools in Colfax, Wash., and Hillsboro.
In 1922, Mr. Frank moved from Colfax to Portland, where he and his father owned and operated a grocery store in the Woodstock neighborhood.
Mr. Frank married Virginia ''Ellen'' Whitsell on June 22, 1929. The couple lived variously in Garibaldi and in Vernonia, where Mr. Frank worked for the Oregon-American Lumber Mill until it closed in 1957. He subsequently was a janitor for the U.S. Bank in Vernonia for 33 years, retiring last August.
In the 1930s, Mr. Frank was a founding member of the Assembly of God Church in Vernonia.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Mr. Frank is survived by his sons, John E. of Prineville, James R. of Hermiston, and Richard C. of Camp Darby, Italy; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Vernonia Senior Center, 446 Bridge St., Vernonia, Ore. 97064.
