A member of the Ossian First Presbyterian Church for the past 30 years, Florence L. (Beverforden) Brubaker, 88, of FortWayne, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005.
Born Jan. 17, 1917, in Fort Wayne, she lived all her life in Allen County except for 20 years in Adams County.
She was a Christian education teacher and Sunday School leader in churches through years of her lifetime since her teens.
Surviving are her husband, Frederick Brubaker; three sons, Dennis and Jay, both of Fort Wayne and Michael of South Bend; four sisters, Gladys and Jane Beverforden, both of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Jack (Ruth) Barth of Schererville and Mrs. Jack (Gloria) Killion of Canton, Ohio; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Brubaker; three sisters, Jeanette Hill Butz, Virginia Robbins and Bernice Fennig, and a brother, Clarence Beverforden.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Covenant House, Salvation Army of Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Rescue Mission or Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity.
