OLIVE HILL- Pete Haywood, of Greenbriar, died Sunday, February 22, 1998, in St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead.

Mr. Haywood was born in Carter County, October 10, 1917, in Carter County, a son of the late Isom and Mary Birchfield Haywood.

His wife, Dorothy Caudill Haywood, died in 1959.

He was retired from General Refractories Brickyard.

Surviving are four sons, Clifton Haywood of Opp, Alabama, Denver Haywood of Morehead, Ralph Haywood, Dennis and Freddie Haywood, all of Olive Hill, and Callie Haywood of Flemingsburg, two daughters, Jackie Haywood and Pam Adkins, both of Morehead, a stepson, Lowell Thomas Cline of Mansfield; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, February 27, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill by Clayton Hanshaw, minister. Burial was in the Haywood Cemetery.
