Obituary in The State, Columbia, SC, 20 Oct 1976: Funeral services for Mrs. Amos Julia Shannon Davis, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert C. Mulkey and the Rev. James G. Jennings. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Davis, 78, of 1104 Baywater Drive, West Columbia, widow of Walter Edward Davis Sr., died Tuesday at her home. Mrs. Davis was born in Columbia, a daughter of the late Leonard and Agnes Wise Shannon. She was a member of Greenlawn Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Ms. Elizabeth Keeler, Mrs. Margie Cannon, Mrs. Virginia Cotton and Mrs. Betty Stork of Columbia; three sons, John T. and Walter E. Davis Jr. of West Columbia and Penny O. Davis of Augusta, Ga., a sister, Mrs. Bernice Campbell of Sumter; 28 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be George Sabbagha, Phillip Cotton, George Ray Cannon III, Keith B. Cannon, Walter E. Davis III and Gary M. Davis.
