Statesboro - Mrs. Avis Alderman Hagans, age 88, died Sunday evening at Brown's Health and Rehabilitation. The Bulloch County native was born in the Westside Community on November 5th, 1922, to Stephen T. and Clara Keene Alderman. Mrs. Hagans retired as a floral designer after working many years with several local floral shops. She loved her family, her church, flowers, working in her yard, cooking and sewing. Mrs. Hagans was a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Aubrey Alderman and Stevie Alderman; sisters, Ruby A. Anderson, Lucille A. Braine and Telmalee A. Gerrald.

Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Mr. Cecil E. Hagans of Statesoro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cecile H. and Ed Boulineau of Statesboro and Judy H. and Gerald Williams of Sylvania; three grandchildren, Lori B. Whitson of Alpharetta, Lee Banks of Augusta and Heather McNeal of Statesboro; five great-grandchildren, Madison and Ansley Whitson, Charlie McNeal and Jackson and Riley Banks; sister, Mary A. Garrett of Tampa; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Statesoro Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Randy Waters and Randy Durrence officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
