Phillip James Coleman 71, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 11, 2011, in Best Care Nursing Home in Wheelersburg.

He was born on June 23, 1939, in Pike County, Ky., a son of the late Trimble and Ruby Coleman.

He was a retired carman for CSX Railroad, a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carman and attended the Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Mae Adkins Coleman; a son, Jeffery Scott Coleman and his wife Shawna of Wheelersburg; a daughter, Julie Ann Dettwiller and her husband John of McDermott; a brother, Bobby Coleman of Smyrna, Tenn.; three sisters, Gail Lawson of Pike County, Betty Mason of Dearborn, Mich., and Mary Coleman of Tennessee; and seven grandchildren, Josh Coleman and his wife Robin, Lynsey Dettwiller, Betsy Dettwiller, Jacob Coleman, Jenny Dettwiller, Tyler Hamilton and Makena Coleman.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup by Elders Gary Adkins and Ira Adkins Jr. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery in Flatwoods.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the funeral home with church services at 7 p.m.
