On Oct. 17, 1954 he was married to Betty Ruth Bruner at Butler. To this union were born five children: Jackie, Kimmy, Geary, Leslie and Rhonda. Two sons, Jackie and Geary, preceded him in death, as did his parents and one brother, Freddie.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home in Arapaho, two daughters, Kim of Clinton and Rhonda (Mrs. Dale Maxwell) of Waucomis, and one son, Leslie, of the home; his twin sister, Doris Shepherd, and her husband, Roy, of Arapaho; three brothers, Herschel and his wife, Norma, of McAlester, OK; Cecil and his wife, Flora Jean, of Owasso; and Don and his wife, Vernell, of Weatherford; six grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 6 at the First Methodist Church of Thomas, OK. Officiating ministers were Rev. Larry Harlan, Rev. Bruce Brotherton and Rev. Jim Shepherd. Burial services, under the direction of Stanley-Lee Funeral Home, of Clinton, were held at the Butler Cemetery.
