Keevie Simmons, 48, died Sunday, November 6,1994, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, after a short illness. The Virginia native had lived in Glennville for the past 24 years. He was a Vietnam Army veteran and was a member of the Georgia National Guard. He was employed with the Glennville Christian Academy and Duramatic Corporation. He was a member of Glennville Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Simmons of Glennville, Georgia; two sons, Timothy and Scott Simmons, both of Glennville, and his adopted mother, Hope Parrish, also of Glennville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 8, 1994, at 3:00 p.m. at the Glennville Free Will Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Tony Trott. Burial was in the Stoney Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, with full military honors.

Rimes-Setwart Mortuary of Glennville, Georgia was in charge of the arrangements.

Keevie came to live with our family when he was 18 years old. He was living with another family as a foster child until he turned 18 and they made him leave. So he adopted my parents as his own.
