Daughter of Philip and Anna Elizabeth Geres Meikel, she immigrated with her family in 1856 to the Peoria, IL area.

CHATSWORTH. Mrs. Elizabeth Ellinger, 83, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday at her home here following three weeks illness.

Elizabeth Meikel, daughter of Philip and Elizabeth Meikel, was born in Germany, April 17, 1850. She came to ElPaso with her parents when she was six years old. She was married Adam Ellinger at ElPaso Dec. 5, 1867.

In the following year they moved to a farm in Sullivan Township of Livingston Co. where they resided for 25 years, retiring to Chatsworth. Mr. Ellinger died nine years ago.

Surviving are four children: Christian and John, both of Cullom; Mrs. Jonas Hill (Mary Ann) and Mrs. John Gelmars (Catherine) both of Chatsworth. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A brother, Philip Meikel, resides in Santa Anna, Calif.

She was a member of the Evangelical church. The funeral will be held at the home at 2 p.m. Sunday and at church at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Leo Schmitt will preside.

A daughter, Anna (Mrs. Daniel) Attig of Wing, IL was omitted from the published obituary. Another daughter, Margaret is listed in Adam's obituary as having died age 3.
