Mrs. Gladys Rae Hamlin, 67, of 426 Cherry, died at 4:25 A.M., Sunday, at the Hedrick Medical Center.
She had been in failing health for several years.
Mrs. Hamlin was born Sept. 19, 1906, in Livingston County, the daughter of William Harve Stokesberry and Hester Ann Litton Stokesberry.
On July 24, 1929, she was married to Cecil L. Hamlin at South Bend, Ind. She was graduated from the High School in Lock Springs in 1926 and moved to Chillicothe in 1951. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband, of the home, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elva Ann Aitken, and Mrs. Nancy Evlyn Offield; a brother, Ira Stokesberry, Osceola, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Slattery, Chillicothe; Mrs. Louetta Williamson, Randolph, Iowa; and Mrs. Mary Ellen Shewmaker, Texas, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Lindblom officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Family visitation will be held this evening from 7:30 to 8:30 at the Norman Funeral Home.
The body will be taken to the church at noon Tuesday to lie in state until 1:55, at which time the casket will be closed and not reopened.
The family suggests contributions to be made to the Cancer fund or the First Presbyterian Church.
