Mrs. Betty Darnell Arnold Bozard, formerly of Orangeburg died Thursday March 3, at Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews. She was 76 years of age. Services was held at Double Branch Baptist Church in Orangeburg, with burial in the church cemetery. Her grandsons Anthony Etheridge, Shane Etheridge, Tom Summers and Jeff Irickwere pallbearers.
She was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Bamberg County, the daughter of the late Luther Darnell and the late Mander Judy Darnell Gray. She was a victim of Alzheimer's disease. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was the widow of James Ryan Arnold Sr. and Raymond Bozard.
Family she left include:
two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Susan Arnold) Etheridge of Orangeburg; Mrs. Thomas (Patty Arnold) Gilham of Enville, Tenn.;
four sons, Ryan and Mary Arnold of Taylors, Mike and Martha Arnold and Paul and Ruth Arnold, all of Henderson, Tenn., and Jerry and Lucy Arnold of Marysville, Wash.;
14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;
three sisters, Carolyn and James Gray of Orangeburg; Birdie and John Williams of Candler, N.C.; Annie Mae Creech of Denmark;
a brother, Gary Gray of Orangeburg; a number of nieces and nephews.
