Statesboro - Mrs. Lois C. Jones, 95, died Wednesday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The Indiana native lived in Statesboro most of her life and retired after 30 years as bookkeeper with Smith Supply Company. She was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church for over 60 years, attended Sunday school and was a member of the Cora Williams Circle.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara J. Akins, Statesboro; one sister, Mary C. Daniel, Savannah; one granddaughter, Mary Lois Akins, Washington; two grandsons, Roy L. Akins Jr. and Elder Tom Akins, both of Statesboro; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elder George Daunhauer and Elder Lindy Webb officiating. Burial will be held in the Eastside Cemetery with Elder John B. Purser officiating. Hodges-Turner Funeral Home.
