Born July 13, 1907, in Rowan County, Mrs. Kepley, a daughter of the late David Luther and Bessie Lyerly Kluttz, was educated at Biltmore School.
Known as the Alterations Lady, she did alterations for area dry cleaners and was a homemaker. A lifelong member of Faith Baptist Church, she was the oldest member of the church. She was a member of the Heaven Bound Sunday School Class and Current Missions Circle.
Her husband, Herman Charlie Kepley, died May 10, 1973; and a daughter, Hazel Honeycutt, died in 1998.
Survivors include sons Herman C. Kepley Jr., Rockwell, and Albert Ray Kepley, Salisbury; daughters Jean Lefler and Bessie Wagoner, both of Rockwell, and Mary Lois "Pug" Coan, China Grove; brothers J. Edward Kluttz, Concord, and Arnold Kluttz, Salisbury; sisters Willie Peeler, Beulah Hoffner and Mary Elizabeth Hoffner, all of Salisbury; 18 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Friday, Faith Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Charles Brawley. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
