Edith S. Beahm STUARTS DRAFT
Edith Mae (Swartz) Beahm, 101, widow of Ralph E. Beahm, formerly of Mountain Vista Drive, Stuarts Draft, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Shenandoah Nursing Home.
She was born July 21, 1909, in Brentsville, Virginia, a daughter of the late Frank and Laura Swartz.
Family members include two children, Doris True of Staunton, and James Beahm of Verona; six grandchildren, Jean Stephens, Jack True, Carolyn Strand, Michael True, Monica Jenkins, and Brian Beahm; 14 great- grandchildren; four great- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Reverend Joel Thornton.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and great- grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Emergency Relief Fund, c/o Joyce Miller, 65 Dove Hill Lane, Staunton, VA 24401 or to the Bethel Memorial Fund, c/o John Howell, 1066 Chestnut Ridge Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
Friends may visit at the home of her daughter, Doris True, 411 Mill Creek Lane, Staunton, from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, and Friday, March 11, 2011.
The family gives special thanks to the staff at Shenandoah Nursing Home for the kind care given to her.
There will be no public viewing.
