Jenny McDonald, our Angel on Earth, left this world to join the angels in Heaven on March 7, 2011. She was a blessing to everyone who met her. Jenny was a nurse at North Monroe Hospital before becoming a nurse practitioner. Jenny was a loving caregiver whose only concern was her "little patients" as she called them. She loved everybody, and everyone loved her. Her life was devoted to taking care of her family, friends, and patients.

Jenny grew up in Winnsboro, LA. She moved to Monroe in 1987 to continue her nursing career, which eventually spanned 28 years. For years she worked in every department at North Monroe Hospital. She graduated from the first class of nurse practitioners at Grambling University. Jenny worked in Union Parish for eleven years and resided in Ruston for the last seven years where her most recent employment was at Quick Care.

When Jenny was not taking care of the medical needs of everyone she knew, she was entertaining and feeding her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother: Hazel Fowler; father: J.D. Fowler and her sisters; Judy Fowler and Christy Fulford.

Jenny leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Betsy Fletcher of San Francisco; son Ben Svetlecic and his fianc?e Courtney Williamson of Monroe; Aunts Nez Kellicut, Agnes McCaffrey, and Juanita Fisher of Mississippi; best friends Bev and Johnny Caraway of Ruston; best friends Kathy and Tom Davenport of Calhoun; devoted colleague and friend Diane Spillers of Farmerville. Jenny had so many friends, including all of those she worked with at the clinics. To know Jenny was to love her. Last but certainly not least, she leaves her little Munchie, her devoted little dog, and also one stray cat who loves her.

Services will be at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in Ruston. Jenny's friend and former pastor Wanda Smith will conduct the service. Visitation will be Thursday March 10, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and the funeral service will be on Friday March 11, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville, Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Caraway, Tom Davenport, Brent Wollerson, Brandon Wollerson, Michael Bartlett, and Chris Bostick.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jenny McDonald Memorial Fund to benefit Rural Healthcare at Community Trust Bank. In her memory patients will continue to be cared for as she would have wanted
