Daughter of William Thomas Nichols & Laura Belle (Morris). Sister of Pearl (Lathim), Dora (Luckie), Blanche (Rector), Zula (Tackitt), Minerva (Larue), Henrietta Marie (Sizelove) & Earnest. Wife of Paul Bowers. Step mother of Charles Donovan; mother of Merle Agnes (Wolf), Jack Leon, Marjorie May (Henderson), Anna Belle (Cartmill) & Ruby Iva (Newby). Iva & Paul raised a grandson, their daughter Marjorie's first child, Richard Jonas Davis.

Iva & Paul homesteaded on a farm 5 miles northwest of Rosston, OK, & upon retirement, moved to Laverne, OK, where they bought a house & built a duplex across the street from their house.

Iva was an outstanding cook and seamstress. She stood up for her children & grand children.
