Ernest Baca Jr., 49, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th St. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at University Church of Christ, 733 E.N. 16th Street with Brent Isbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Mr. Baca was born October 20, 1961 in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to Ernest Eugene and Mary Jean Baca.
Survivors include four sons, Jacob Lee Deleon, Jason Eugene Deleon, Eric Lee Deleon, Jessie Baca, all of Abilene; two daughters, Stephanie Diane Deleon (Bobby Sutton III) of Abilene and Tationia Baca of Dallas; a brother, Mike Cano III (Janie Cano) of Abilene; five sisters, Lucy Rodriguez, Mary Pena (Guillermo Rincon), Christina Gonzales, Petra Cano , and Norma Cano (Mario Nieto Jr.) all of Abilene; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be greatly missed by his two canine friends, Eugene and Christmas.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jean Cano and Ernest Eugene Baca Sr. and a brother, Frank Baca.
