Price family history written by Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Price) Leaverton (granddaughter) reads, "In 1840 when Elisha (Jr) was 6 weeks old the family moved (from Rush County, Indiana) by covered wagon. They landed where the town of Milton (Iowa) now stands one Sunday in June 1840. They stopped with Uncle Billie Casady's family who had been friends in Indiana, until grandfather (Elisha G Price Sr.) could find a place. He entered the land south east of Milton where they lived until he died about 5 years later (1845). Another child, Josephine Price (married name Creath) was born here. This land later became the home of T.J. Price, my father, and here I was born the youngest of 6 girls. The place is just south of where Halsey Harbin now lives. Near where the old Egypt church used to stand. Grandfather Price had three brothers, William, John, and Elihu."
