Murder Victim. Carol was seven months pregnant when she was killed by her husband, Charles Stuart. Stuart blamed it on a Black man, which unleashed a wave of bigotry throughout the Boston area. After police accused Stuart of the killing, he took his life. Numerous documentaries, poems, and other media have been created about this case.
