John R. (Jack) Hutchens, 68, a carpenter at Warner Gear, died at Ball Hospital early Thursday after a week's illness. He had been employed there for 12 years and was a member of Local 287, UAW-CIO. He was a member of Delaware Lodge of Masons 45, F. and A.M., the Scottish Rite at Indianapolis, the Sympathy Club and Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
Surviving besides the widow, Opal L., are a sister, Mrs. Ida Shores and two brothers, Denson and Leonard Hutchens, all of Muncie.
Services will be held at the Meeks Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Don Reisinger, pastor of South Side Christian Church, in charge. The Delaware lodge of Masons will assist in the graveside services at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Friday.
