SHIPSHEWANA — Willis Bontrager, 74, died Friday at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

A lifetime LaGrange County resident, Mr. Bontrager was a farmer and had worked at Yoder's Hardware in Shipshewana. He was a member of the Calvary Chapel Fellowship in Stroh.

Mr. Bontrager was born July 26, 1935 in Nappanee, to Joseph and Maude (Yoder) Bontrager.

On Jan. 13, 1955, he married Vera L. Miller in Shipshewana. Mrs. Bontrager survives in Shipshewana.

Also surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, Michael E. and Lynn Bontrager, Stephen A. and Mindy Bontrager, Todd R. and Donna Bontrager, and Matthew E. and Tana Bontrager, all of Shipshewana, and Bradley J. and Janee Bontrager of Ligonier; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Bud Mohler of Millersburg and Edna Schrader of Centreville, Mich.; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Oleta Bontrager and Dave and Sue Bontrager, all of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Jessica Bontrager.

Funeral services will take place Monday at 10 a.m. at Shore Mennonite Church, 7235 W. 100 North, Shipshewana, with the Rev. Gary Rifenburg officiating.

Burial will be in Sidener Cemetery in rural Shipshewana.

Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Shore Mennonite Church in Shipshewana.

Memorials may be made to the Gospel for Asia.
