Mary Emeline Rose-Jackson married Alonzo P Bacon on Oct 7, 1905, Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon (cert #4773). Alonzo P. Bacon died Jan 20, 1910 in Salinas, Monterey Co, Calif. due to being away from home on a freight shipping accident. (he was b. 1839)

The April 20, 1910, Prunedale Prec. Castoville Twp, Monterey Co, Calif. census finds "Mary E Bacon" listed a a widow with 5 childen, 3 living. Alonzo P. Bacon's obit listed Mary E as his wife, plus, his children from a prior marriage. For info re Alonzo, see Memorial 22315507.

The Jan 5, 1920 Myrtle Creek Twp, Douglas Co., Oregon census finds Mary E Backon (Bacon) listed with her nephew Elmer I Jackson's family. She is a nurse w/a private family. Note that Elmer is the son of her husband John Jay Jackson's brother William & Harriet M. Bailey Jackson.

Mother Mary E Rose Jackson Bacon married John Quincy Holladay Sept 22, 1920, Myrtle Creek, Douglas Co., OR (cert #67).

On the April 5, 1930 U.S. Census, Mary E Holladay, 84y, wid, b IL, par b Ky/Tn, is living with her daughter, Della C Boyle, 65y, b Or, par b IL/Tn. Mary E died at her daughters home 1939.


Note: Wiliam Walter Jackson's paternal grandparents were Abraham Jackson and Nancy Hager. They were married 23 Jan. 1825 in Davidson Co., TN. They apparently moved to St. Clair Co. IL about 1836 and the family story is Abraham and Nancy were "on the way back from Belleville about 1845-46 when they were killed by Indians." They were supposedly buried in a Masonic Cemetery, South Of Mascoutah, St. Clair Co., IL. Most likely this cemetery either no longer exists or has grown over.

1790--St. Clair County was created 27 April 1790 from the Northwest Territory. County seat: Belleville.
