Mary Francis (Knowles) Montemayor, 81, St. Joseph, Mo., passed from this life on Sunday, June 15, 2008, in her home.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1926, in St. Joseph.
Mary married Lawrence "Charlie" Montemayor on Nov. 16, 1946, at Atchison, Kan. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1984.
Her parents, William and Ora May (Heitman) Knowles; an infant son, David Montemayor; and several brothers and sisters also preceded Mary in death.
Mary worked at Whitaker Cable Corp. and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and knitting.
Survivors; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Lou Montemayor, St Joseph; Duane and Glenda Montemayor, Tampa Fla.; daughters, Jennifer Evans; Rachelle and Tom Pflugradt, all of St. Joseph; brother Bobby Knowles, St. Joseph; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Gladden-Stanley Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Public viewing after 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 17; and rosary at 6 p.m. Tuesday, with visitation following until 8p.m.
