Bobby Lee Knowles, 78, of Saint Joseph, MO, passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at his home in Saint Joseph, MO.
He was born October 8, 1931 in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Ora and Harley Knowles.
He married Virginia Meyer on August 19, 1959 in Troy, Kansas.
He served in the Air Force and the Missouri Air National Guard and retired after 30 years of service. He also worked at Quaker Oats, Continental Can, and retired from Sherwood Medical in 1993. He was a member of American Legion post #359, the Machinist Union, Air Force Sergeants Association and he was a Christian.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Bobby Dean and Terry Knowles, a daughter, Sharon Sansonetti, two brothers, Acy Leon Knowles, and Charles Knowles, three sisters, Laura Seevers, Della Mae Sollars, and Mary Montemayor.
Survivors include wife, Virginia Knowles of the home, two daughters, Tammy Wheeler and husband Robbie of Faucett, MO, Kathleen Lewis and husband Gary of St. Joseph, MO, several, grandchildren, several, great grandchildren, one, great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., at the Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Darrell Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The interment will be at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
