Daniel is the son of Frederick Traugott Gobblob Sheneman and Anna Margaretha Faust. He was born in Somerset, Somerset, PA and married about 1822 to Elizabeth Gundle. About 1830 the family left Pennsylvania and settled in Mechanic Township, Holmes County, OH. From there Daniel and his family moved to Clinton Township, Fulton County, OH. They are listed as one of the first families to settle in that area.
