Virginia Sessions Montes went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She fought a long, hard and valiant battle against the disease.

Virginia gave courage, determination, graciousness and optimism a new definition. She has been an inspiration to everyone that knew her. She is finally pain free and rejoicing in her heavenly home.

The family will receive friends and loved ones Friday from 5:00 to 7:30 pm at Laird Funeral Home, with a rosary following. Services will be held at Laird Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am on Saturday with Rev. Joseph Lourdasamy and Deacon Billy Mitchell officiating with internment following at Moral Cemetery.

Virginia was born in Marshall, Texas on August 4, 1960 to Billy Rube Sessions and Dorothy Pinkerton Sessions. She lived most of her life in Nacogdoches and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Virginia was employed at Kroger, Coca Cola and Stephen F. Austin State University. In any position she held, she strived to do her very best, never complaining about any tasks given, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to her co-workers. She was always complimented on her above average quality of work.

Virginia married the love of her life, Eli, June 3, 2002. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, mother and maw-maw who loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved the outdoors; especially camping, fishing, and gardening. She also loved riding Harleys with her beloved husband and was a member of the Ladies of Harley.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Eli Montes of Nacogdoches; daughter, Amber Grigsby and husband John of Lufkin; son, Ryan Sluterbeck of Waco; mother, Dorothy Sessions of Nacogdoches, and grandchildren Alexis and Madison Grigsby of Lufkin. She is also survived by sisters Susan Poe and husband Lloyd of Chesterfield, Virginia; Karen Tucker; Marion King and husband Kelly of Nacogdoches; and brothers Bill (Bubba) Sessions of Grand Saline, Richard Sessions and wife Lisa of Houston; Michael Sessions and wife Robin of Tyler, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Billy Rube Sessions.

Pallbearers are Bill (Bubba) Sessions, Michael Sessions, Richard Sessions, Lloyd Poe, Kelly King, and Wyatt Tucker.
