Karen Kathleen Sessions Tucker passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 in Nacogdoches. Karen was born in Marshall, Texas to Bill and Dorothy Sessions on July 15, 1957. She was called “Red” due to her red hair and was one of seven children. As one of the older daughters she helped reign in the two younger brothers. She also learned how to play the French horn. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition. She then went on with a career of Teaching in Wells, TX, Dietician for Pineland Hospital, and became the County Extension Agent in Gilmer and Nacogdoches Counties.

While in the Extension Program, she worked with the Children and Adult Clubs with 4-H. Karen was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Circle 6 Club. She had a love for watercolor and oil paintings, which lead her to be a member of the Watercolor Club of East Texas. She also loved to gather with her friends as a member of the Birthday Club. Preceded in death by her parents, William Rube Sessions and Dorothy Sessions; sister, Virginia Montes, and brother, Bill (Bubba) Sessions.

She is survived by son, Frederick Wyatt Tucker III and wife Ginger Hamilton Tucker of Houston, TX; granddaughters, Catherine Adair Tucker and Camille Louise Tucker; son, William Garrett Tucker of Houston, TX; sister, Susan Sessions Poe and husband Lloyd of Chesterfield, VA and their children Vanessa and Barret Poe; sister, Marion Sessions King and husband Kelly of Nacogdoches, TX and their children Brandi White and husband Chris of Nacogdoches, TX and Brent King and wife Veronica of Belton, TX; brother, Richard Sessions and wife Lisa of Houston, TX; brother, Michael Sessions and wife Robin of Tyler, TX and their children Carlie and Chelsea Sessions; niece, Amber Grigsby and husband John of Timpson, TX; nephew, Ryan Sluterbeck and wife Nicole of Lubbock, TX; along with numerous great nieces and nephews, family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

The Funeral will be on Monday, June 17th at 10 am at the First United Methodist Church in Nacogdoches, TX. Rev. Lorraine Brown will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, TX.
