"Thomas Carney, 80, of Manheim R7, died at St. Joseph Hospital Wednesday morning following a lengthy illness.
He was the husband of Amanda Simmons binkley Carney. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rueben [sic Reuben] Carney.
He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Calvary C. Company 13th Engineers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two step-sons, Claude E. Binkley, Sherman, Texas, and Ira J. Binkley, Terre Hill; two step-daughters, Edna M., wife of David C. Metzger, Lancaster, and Ruth B., wife of Walter Shaub, Stevens R2; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 41 step-great-grandchildren; eight great-step-grandchildren."
