Ruth Bailey Neilson, 47, Central City, died Monday at Mercy Hospital following a short illness. Born June 3, 1938, at Central City, she married Howard Nielson on Feb 12, 1982 at Central City. Mrs Nielson was a member of the United Church of Christ in Central City. Survivors include her husband; a son, Raymond Bailey of Central City; 2 daughters, Mary Henderson and Tammy Bailey, both of Central City; her mother and stepfather, Lois and Clarke Mason of Central City; a stepson, Robert Nielson of Central City; a brother, Henry Mason of Jackson, Minn; and 5 grandchildren. Ruth I. Bailey Nielson, 47, Central City, died December 30 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Funeral services were held January 2 at the United Church of Christ in Central City.
Nielson was born June 3, 1938, at Central City, the daughter of Raymond and Lois Hutchins Palmer. She married Lester Bailey on July 3, 1956 and later divorced. She married again to H. Robert Nielson, a former Rowley resident on February 12, 1982, in Central City.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Raymond Bailey; two daughters, Mary Bailey Henderson and Tammy Bailey, of Central City; her mother and stepfather, Lois and Clark Mason, Central City; a stepson, Robert Nielson, at home; five grandchildren; and a brother, Henry Mason, Jackson, Minnesota.
