James L. Alvis, age 89, of Lafayette, Tn., passed away Tuesday morning, June 25th, 1985 at Smith County Health Care Center. He was a native of Macon County, the son of the late Jasper and Helena Robinson Alvis. He was retired from Tri County, and he was a veteran of World War I.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 27th, 1985 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Alexander Funeral HOme in Lafayette by Eld. W. E. Massey. Interment was in the Eulia Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Eltie McClard Alvis; two daughters, Dollie Celsor of Hartsville, Tm. and Melba Wilson of Lafayette, Tn,; six grandchildren, Jim and Don Celsor both of Hartsville, Tn., Wayne Wilson of Colorado, Johnny Wilson of Red Boiling Springs, Tn., Jayne Watson and Richard Wilson both of Lafayette, Tn.; four great grandchildren.
