Services for Zelmer Van Reynolds, 81 year old Sherman resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 1997 at Dannel Funeral Chapel in Sherman. He passed away Tuesday, July 1, 1997 in a Sherman hospital. The Rev. Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church will officiate with burial in Cedar Cemetery, southeast of Sherman. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman.
Mr. Reynolds was born August 19, 1915 in Bells, Texas, the son of Charlie Martin Reynolds and Jennie Flowers Reynolds. He married Louise Cole on January 19, 1932 in Madill, Oklahoma. They had been married for 65 years. He attended schools in the Ida Community. He was retired from Johnson Burks Plumbing Supply after a 33 years of employment. He ws a member of the East Sherman Baptist Church for over 50 years and served 30 years in church Sunday School extension ministry at the Chapel of care.
Surviving are his wife; son, Richard Martin Reynolds and wife, Joyce and daughter-in-law, Margaret Reynolds of Sherman ; two brothers, Lelmer C. Reynolds and Delmer (D.Z.) Reynolds, both of Sherman ; one sister, Fannie Ayres of Bells. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary Van Reynolds on March 6, 1997 and one brother, Elmer Reynolds of Bells ;also survived by four grandchildren, Richard M. Reynolds, Jr. and wife Pam of Tom Bean, Shelley Copeland and husband Steve of Sherman, Michael Reynolds and wife, Shanna of Denison, Meg Graham and Husband Bryan of Sherman ; eight great grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Reynolds of Tom Bean, Joshua and Kristen Copeland, Ashley and Ralston Graham, all of Sherman, Baleigh and Eli Reynolds of Denison. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, other times at 1217 South Willow in Sherman.
