Thomas Lilly, one of the well known citizens of near Jumping Branch, died on Saturday night at his home, after a short illness of pneumonia, age 78 years.
The news of his death was received here Sunday afternoon with much regret by his relatives and others of his acquaintance.
Mr Lilly suffered a stroke of paralysis about five years ago and since that time had been in declining health. When he was stricken with pneumonia he sank rapidly and died at the time mentioned.
He leaves a wife and one brother, Sam Lilly, of Dunns, Mercer county, the only living member of large family of 13 children.
The remains were buried this afternoon on the David Lilly farm near the late home. Many attended the burial.

Thomas Lilly, Esq, a prominent citizen of Jumping Branch, died at his home Saturday night, after a lingering illness of paralysis, aged about 80 years. He was a brother of Sam Lilly, a well known citizen of Dunns, and an uncle of Attorney General A A Lilly. A wife, but no children survives.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon, about 1 o'clock, in the Smith graveyard, near Jumping Branch.∼Son of Robert & Mary Cadle Lilly.
