Gilbert I. Rose, Mountain Home, AR, died yesterday in Saint Luke's Hospital, Houston, TX. He was born at Cull, MO on Dec. 29, 1909, the son of Fred and Anna (Francis) Rose.
Mr. Rose had spent his early life in the Cull area and received his education in the schools of Howell County.
He was married May 17, 1952 to Pansy E. Wellman, daughter of John W. Wellman.
After the marriage the couple made their home at Sacramento, CA, where Mr. Rose was employed with civil service at McCullin Air Force Base.
At the time of his retirement, the family came to West Plains, MO and then to Mountain Home, AR to make their home.
He was veteran of World War II.
Preceding Mr. Rose in death are his parents; a sister, Hazel Griffith; and an infant brother.
Survivors include his wife, Pansy, of the family home; two sisters, Lela Floyd of Rogersville, MO; Mary Francis of Springfield, MO; and one brother, Chester Rose of Independence, MO.
The body was returned here yesterday by air ambulance. Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, MO, with Rev. Sam B. Beddinger officiating. Interment will be in the Francis Cemetery near Cull, MO under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, MO.
