MR. JOSEPH FELTON LAVENDER
Mr. Joseph Felton Lavender, 72, of Oconee died June 26 at Memorial Hospital of Washington County.
Funeral services were held Friday June 27 at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of Mayo Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Haywood, Methodist Circuit pastor and Rev. Carroll McDade, pastor of the Oconee Christian Church officiated.
Interment was in Brownwood Cemetery.
Mr. Lavender was born Jan. 20, 1903 in Wilkinson County. He was the son of the late Walter Lavender and the late Mrs. Mae Massengale Lavender.
A retired employee of Thiele Kaolin Co., Mr. Lavender was a member of Bay Springs Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Barksdale, one brother, Clarence Lavender of Irwinton; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Ward of Irwinton and Mrs. Lucy Stapleton of Milledgeville; several nieces and nephews.
